Mesophase pitch is a nematic liquid-crystal material composed of disc-shaped or rod-shaped molecules formed by aromatic hydrocarbons. ECO Mesophase Pitch is a new novel carbon material precursor, which exhibits excellent properties, including high mesophase mass fraction, low ash content, appropriate softening point, excellent spinnability and thermal stability. It can be used in the production of high-performance mesophase pitch-based carbon fiber, mesophase pitch-based carbon foam, and carbon composite materials, etc. These materials are often used in the toughest environments such as in aerospace and military applications.
